Dirty Nails, Dirty Wheels

The Japanese government has allocated funds intended for tsunami/nuclear relief efforts to equipping the Japanese whaling fleet with a 30 million dollar private security force to keep Sea Shepherd away as they murder whales.  This is happening against a backdrop of an already very badly handled relief project, where many affected families are seeing little government help or none at all.  The link is to an Avaaz petition urging Japanese prime minister Noda Yoshihiko to put these funds back where they belong—supporting life, not death.
